Sedgefield’s ancient church will resound to the music of a traditional South African song of praise on Sunday morning (February 10).

Michael King‘Thuma Mina’ - it means ‘Lead me Lord’ in Zulu - has been chosen by Reader Michael King (pictured) to complement the theme of this week’s morning worship at St Edmund’s.
“It speaks of sending us out, leading us and filling us with the Spirit”, Michael explained.
The song will first be played on a CD and the congregation will then be invited to follow the words and sing along if they wish to do so.

Michael came across ‘Thuma Mina’ some years ago when he was employed by the YMCA and heard it performed by a Swedish youth choir.
“It was truly beautiful and I’m sure will be enjoyed by those who hear it on Sunday”, he said.

The service begins at 10am and Church officials promise there will be a warm welcome for all who attend.
