Teashop owners thanked for Church-conservation support

Sedgefield tea shop owners Philip and Lynn Toshach have had their efforts to help safeguard the future of the town’s historic church recognised by the Friends of Saint Edmund’s.
The couple sold more Friends’ calendars and Christmas cards from their café and restaurant in The Square than anyone else in the town. Income from the sales will be used to support conservation work on the fabric of the centuries-old church, parts of which are now in urgent need of repair.

This week, Philip (left) and Lynn (centre) were presented with a floral bouquet by Friends’ membership secretary Brian Mutch (right).
He told the couple: “We are extremely grateful for all your hard work and to all the people who supported us by buying so many of our 2020 calendars and cards. You have done a wonderful job”

The Calendars will still be available from the shop, as well as the church, for the next few months.
