Members of St Edmund’s Church in Sedgefield and St Michael’s Church, Bishop Middleham, are hoping that their latest donation to a deserving local cause will prove a blooming success.
Some of the money raised at a Parish Family Barbecue in the grounds of Sedgefield Rectory earlier this year has been used to buy garden bulbs and compost for the monthly Memory Café held in the town’s Fire Station.
The congregations of St Edmund’s Church and St Michael’s Church added donations of plant pots and baskets.
The Team Rector of the Upper Skerne, the Revd. Geoff Short, is pictured handing over the gifts to Carol and Dorothy of the Memory Café which was launched almost two years ago to enable anyone with dementia, family members or their carers to meet for a drink and a chat in a safe and friendly environment.
