Sedgefield Show proved an ideal venue for the Friends of St Edmund’s Church to launch sales of their eye-catching 2020 Calendar - and it didn’t take long before copies were being snapped up.Haydn Neal (right) with Friends’ membership secretary Brian Mutch

First at the sales stall was local resident Haydn Neal (pictured right with Friends’ membership secretary Brian Mutch) who was followed soon afterwards by Sedgefield’s Mayor, Cllr Leo McCormack, and his wife, Sandra (pictured).

“We were delighted by the comments we received from both locals and visitors”, said Brian. ”All the signs are that the Calendar will prove just as successful as the one we produced last year.”

The slimline, month-per-page, hang-anywhere Calendar includes both colour and monochrome pictures of scenes and events in and around the town taken by nine local photographers during the past year.
The cellophane-wrapped calendars are on sale at £6 (£6.50 with a sturdy card envelope for posting to friends and relatives) and are available from secretary Alison Hodgson (01740 620912), membership secretary Brian Mutch (01740 622302), Toshach’s Tea Shop in Sedgefield or any member of the Friends’ committee.

Profits from the sale of the calendars – which the Friends say would make an ideal Christmas present - will be used to help maintain the fabric of Sedgefield’s ancient parish church.
