Operation Phoenix 2010
Operation Phoenix was set up by The Neighbourhood Police Team for Sedgefield, Fishburn and the Trimdons in order to tackle complaints in relation to anti social use of off road motorcycles. This type of complaint predominately increases in the spring/summer months, the operation has focused on enforcement as well as intelligence gathering in order to identify hot spot areas.

This operation has run from 01/04/2010 to 01/10/2010, in the same period last year we received 92 calls in relation to this type of complaint. This year the amount of calls has reduced to 70.

A total 5 off road bikes were seized, 11 – 183 traffic warning notices were issued and 2 persons reported for court summons – one resulting in a disqualification from driving.

Local officers were also assisted throughout the operation by officers from the force off road motorcycle and road policing units.
