Operation Phoenix 2010 Targeting Off Road Motor Cycles.
Update 8th April 2010

Historically from the month of March calls received in relation to the anti social use of off road motorcycles being used in the Fishburn and Trimdon areas has increased. The majority of the calls have centred on the Trimdon Grange area, in particular Galbraith Terrace. Calls from Fishburn have been to the Moorside Crescent and Sycamore Road area as well as the Industrial Estate.

Sedgefield Neighbourhood Police Team today has launched Operation PHOENIX 2010 in order to combat these types of incidents. Using community intelligence officers we will perform extra high visibility or covert foot and mobile patrols either during the day or late evening in the Trimdon and Fishburn areas. Using these patrols and intelligence, officers will indentify offenders and any offending persons stopped will be dealt with positively and the use of Operation Take away will be considered along with the use of traffic warning forms and associated legislation.

Any persons stopped could have their vehicle seized and face court action. Any further information in relation to persons using motorcycles in an anti social manner please contact Sedgefield neighbourhood Police Team.
