Information Update – 4th December 2010
Sneak In Burglaries – Trimdon Grange.
We have had 3 incidents since 31st of October 2010 in Trimdon Grange where a sneak in burglary has occurred. These types of crime are easily prevented but at the same type a very simple opportunist crime. On each occasion doors have been left unlocked and valuables left in the kitchen, the offender has opened the door and on each occasion took a handbag before making a quick escape. Each incident has occurred between 5-6pm. Enquires are ongoing to locate the offender of these crimes, please help prevent further incidents by keeping all doors locked at all times.
Operation Winter nights.
This operation is going to raise awareness and prevent crime over the winter period; its main aim is to prevent burglaries and vehicle crime. Simple advice such as keeping doors and windows locked/closed of properties and vehicles; this has already been highlighted in the above subject. We will be spread the Winternights word through the media and will carrying out extra patrols, offering crime prevention advice and leaflet drops in vulnerable areas.
