Information Update – 20th March 2008

Crime
A recent increase in vehicle crimes and garage burglaries has continued, two local males have been arrested and enquiries are still ongoing. Can I ask that everyone locks garages and sheds and do not leave motorbikes or pedal bikes insecure or unattended. Likewise with vehicles please do not leave any property on display in your vehicle and remove any tools from your vehicle.

Vehicle crimes
A recent pattern has emerged for vehicles being stolen whilst they have been left unattended for a few minutes/seconds with the keys in. These incidents are occurring across the county and also in the Cleveland area. If your vehicle is stolen in these circumstances it may invalidate your insurance.

Garden Furniture
As the weather improves it is the time of year when people invest in new garden furniture and equipment etc. Can I ask that everyone takes adequate security steps to prevent this type of property from being stolen. Simple steps such as using chains and a small padlock to secure the furniture to the floor or wall will prevent these crimes.

Anti social behaviour Trimdon Grange
After recent high profile incidents in this area extra patrols have been put in place along with various press releases/appeals for information. The situation has now greatly improved, patrols will continue and any youths stopped in anti social circumstances will have their name and address taken and parents will be visited and advised.
