TRIMDON COLLIERY FAMILY FUN DAY
A Big Thank you to Durham County Council Neighbourhood Budget, East Durham Rural Corridor Area Action Partnership, County Councillors Lucy Hovvels and Peter Brookes, Durham County Council, Trimdon Colliery Community Association, Parish Councils and Groundwork North East for working in partnership and funding Trimdon Colliery Family Fun Day.
It was great watching everyone having FUN… The event was inclusive and all activities were free. A parent quoted “it was great seeing something for the children and young people to do in Trimdon Colliery” for a change.
The event on Wednesday 28th July was officially opened for Cllr Lucy Hovvels. Then the FUN started with lots of activities provided by:-
Coopers Fun Fair Rides and Amusements
Go Kart Party
Stalkabouts (circus Skills)
Magic Andrew
Elite Hair Design (nail gems and hair braiding)
EDPCN (arts/crafts, badge-maker, paper crafts)
EDPCN Play Rangers
Joyce (Face Painting and Tatoo’s)
Wildchilds (Rhodeo Bull and Sumo Suits)
Dance in Education Services
Groundwork North East provided a sports coach, graffiti artist, volunteers and free fruit for all the children.
Trimdon Colliery Community Centre Association organised a take your pick stall and also a raffle, lots of fantastic prizes were won.
Michelle from Café Seile had gorgeous cakes and scones for sale, you just had to buy some to try.
