What’s On at the Community Centre

Stop Smoking clinic at Trimdon Station

 9th January 2017
Its with regret we will be reviewing a number of the services which we provide for the community.
We are constantly been targeted for funding cuts and have recently had a reduction of 2/3rd in local funding. Last year we contributed over £17k to support our youth club, but we are unable to continue this as funding is reduced. We will also see the withdrawal of funding from Durham County Council for our youth club.
We will have to make savings or risk the building standing empty, but where would a lot of functions take place without the Centre? Our volunteers still go unnoticed, some have been with us for 35 years. We have developed and supported many new volunteers including an exceptional youth volunteering scheme, we deliver many services to a village with very few facilities.
On a positive note we are looking at some new events, please watch out and share them with your friends.

Trimdon Station Community Centre is your local Charity and available for everyone to access. We provide various resources within the Community Centre. The Centre is ran by volunteers of all ages and provide many local services as well as facilities to hire for all occasions, and has a fully licensed bar.
Contrary to many beliefs, the miners or the Council do not contribute towards the running costs of the Centre, we rely on grants and donations to survive, and the hard work of volunteers.
Instead of supporting national charities, why not donate to your local charity which ensures it is spent in the local community?
