Update for Trimdon Station Community Centre #1

12th April 2021
The Trustees are aware of people wondering when we are re-opening. At the moment we don’t have a date, this is for a number of reasons. Not all activities can take place and currently we are having work done to our building, so please bear with us. Should you wish to contact us please ring 01429 882200 as we are taking bookings for parties for this year and 2022

Update for Trimdon Station Community Centre #2

12th April 2021
Deaf Hill Ward Regeneration Partnership Trustees are delighted to have received funding towards the overheads of our building; even though we are closed we still incur costs.

The funding has come via East Durham Rural Corridor Area Action Partnership, with extra funding from the Deaf Hill Ward Regeneration Partnership. The Partnership was very disappointed that even after being given all the information a request for a letter of support from Trimdon Foundry Parish Council was refused. As the Parish Council decided they would not support the bid, this risked the potential closure of the building, including the loss of 5 staff and 2 sessional workers. This is not to mention the services which are provided to the community, such as things for the children and young people, older people, mental health services, library, community space and the foodbank service.
However, the MP Paul Howells was delighted to write a letter of support (not to mention individuals who see the Centre as a lifeline to the community).

The Partnership have been proud to have been able to maintain all staff during the pandemic, to whom we are grateful for the work they do.

We will be reopening, but some services may have to be put on hold until funding can be sourced.

Regards,
Trustees –Deaf Hill Ward Regeneration Partnership
