Church benefits from musical tribute to George Gershwin

Music by the legendary American composer and pianist George Gershwin whose works include Rhapsody in Blue, An American in Paris and Porgy and Bess, will help boost the funds of Fishburn’s St Catherine’s Church.

Pianist, composer, music producer and church organist Alexander Ord (pictured) will play a varied programme of Gershwin’s best-known music at St Catherine’s from 7pm on Tuesday, September 25th.

He will be joined by Jude Murphy (bass and vocals), Bob Ord (keyboards) and Lyndsey Seed (alto sax).

‘A tribute to Gershwin’ is one of a series of charity fund-raising concerts of both classical and contemporary music performed by Mr Ord and his guests throughout the North of England.

Tickets for the concert cost £6 and include a mini buffet. They are available from Mr Ord on 01429 880070, from church members or on the door.
