Information Update – 18th Sept 2012

Garage and Shed Burglaries.
Within the last month we have seen an increase in garage and shed burglaries in the Trimdon Grange and Village areas. Within the last week this has stopped, a recently stolen motorbike has been recovered in Trimdon Colliery and a male has been arrested. This has subsequently lead to the arrest of another local male who is believed responsible for the recent burglaries. Enquiries are continuing and anyone within any further information please contact us.

Neighbourhood Watch  Schemes.
Our schemes in Trimdon Village and Trimdon Grange are continuing to grow, anyone wishing to join the scheme please contact us. The scheme is free to join and is a simple way for you to keep in touch with both the local Police and your community.

Trimdon Pub Watch.
We continue to run a Pub Watch scheme for all member premises in the Trimdons. Licensees meet with Police and our Alcohol Reduction Team on a bi monthly basis to discuss any issues with the day to day running of the licenced premises. Any potential “problem customers” will be discussed and can face anything from a 3 to 12 month ban from all premises. I am happy to report that we currently have no persons barred from any premises under the scheme and hope this continues.

Anti-Social Behaviour.
In recent weeks we have had to address a very slight increase in incidents of Anti Social Behaviour. We are continually trying to reduce incidents and have recently succeeded in reducing incidents by 63%. To address recent incidents we have used ABC’s (Acceptable Behaviour Contracts) this is a tool we use to try and kerb the behaviour of an individual if this fails we continue to gather evidence towards a full anti-social behaviour. ABC’s will have certain conditions attached and are aimed at keeping the individual away from certain areas of a village/area.
