Opportunities for some modest funding for the Trimdons as a result of the Kelloe/Trimdon Wind Farm.

The County Durham Foundation manages approx £9m and give out about 900 to 1100 grants per year amounting to several million.  Rob will Chair the Trimdon Committee.  We have a budget for the Trimdons of approximately £10,000, which can be used for matching funding.

There is a four sided application form available from the Forster Building in Framwellgate Moor, Durham.

Funding – New Leader Approach, £850,000 to be spent Jan 09 – Mar 2011 on micro enterprise development, sustainable communities, tourism and information.  70% of a project.  Draft information pack available.  Discussion took place regarding Partnership Officer – the need to wait for the new Authority to come in with the Area Action Partnerships.

Urban Renaissance funding from Durham County Council - £25,000 left in the pot to be spent before March 09.  Lucy to obtain copies of forms and Joint Trimdon Partnership to put in a bid for one our projects.

Changing Spaces – Natural England and the Big Lottery – major new grants programme.  Applications opened in April 08.  Grants between £50,00 - £500,000.  Long term benefits through partnership working. www.naturalengland.org.co.uk/applicationtonature.

Police and Neighbourhood Wardens – Crime and Community Safety
High perception of crime v a low volume of crime.  Youth provision is non existence which means a lot of youths hanging about on streets causing anti social behaviour not necessarily crime.  Multi-agency is the way forward, the police cannot lead on initiatives.

Small group of young people hanging around on street corners, damaging infrastructure of village – bus stops, small fires etc.

Youth provision needs to be a priority – needs to be organised and be village by village.  Drink being a problem even at a young age.  Lost a lot of things in the community.

Neighbourhood Wardens – Show a high level of visibility - Low level anti social behaviour, dog fouling etc.  All minimal in Trimdon.  Bring intelligence into the Police, anti social behavioural orders.

The Police Authority have a fund for working within Communities – contact Peter Thompson.

CCTV – It does have an impact but you need to weigh up the cost v the benefits.

Approval of Minutes and Matters Arising
Minutes accepted as a true and accurate record – no matters.
Claire has actioned everything she was requested to.
