Tony Rowe – Connexions Service

13 – 19 year old advice and support – get young people into education, employment and training.

Posters on community boards, advert in the Trimdon Messenger – Freephone Bishop Auckland Office to access the service, interviews being held at Trimdon House once a fortnight. 

NEET statistics for the Trimdon area not significant.  Entry into Employment course no longer available within the Trimdon area.

Make-up of the 13 year olds – Connexion advisers linked to the school based on a needs analysis.

Issue of bullying – anti-bullying schemes within each school.  Children leaving school because of this issue.  Referenced within leaflet.

Youth Clubs – Integrated youth support service (extended services) rationalisation process currently ongoing – likely to be next year for Connexions.

Locally – public transport issues

Approval of Minutes & Matters Arising

Minutes were approved as a true and accurate record with the exception of:

Under Village Events - £2,000 should have read for Trimdon Grange Community Centre football held at 5.30 – 6.30.

David Gallagher – Mark Sadar – Trimdon Grange Health Centre – will take some time to dispose, requires planning permission, problems regarding ownership of land (led to be Brian Wallace/Sandy Sharpe).  Could take up to 27 weeks. Gate to be erected to keep people off the site.

Les contacted the EDF (Wind Farm)

Trimdon Station – making up of the back street.  Definitely a £10,000 pot. Email sent regarding National Play Day and Trimdon Grange Playpark.

Sheila/Peter to have a meeting with Dawn

Planning Exercise – see agenda.

Fete on the Green 19th July – Peter went to meeting. Events Public Liability Insurance services – last year £150. Email received from Dawn – can’t get a group – Dawn can you speak to Keith Thompson.

National Play Day – Neighbourhood Watch Stall and leaflet explaining what JTP is about.

Data Protection
Su produced draft report (taken from the Internet).  Nothing that we are putting on the internet at present contravenes the Act, but minutes to be checked in future prior to being issued.

Feedback from Planning Event & Next Steps

Meeting took place – Baseline mapping took place where we identified what we have now, followed by participatory exercise identifying key issues through a sorting exercise.  Good feedback.

Durham Rural Community Council – possibility of producing map identifying the base-lining.

Next date has been set for action planning:- Monday 9th June commencing 5p.m. till approximately 6.30p.m at Trimdon Community Centre.

Correspondence

Letter from Companys House requesting copy of accounts.  An auditors report required. Balance sheet required, Directors report required including list of Directors, anybody joined or left, statement of any work undertaken, Chairs report – brief summing up of what we have achieved and where we hope to go in the next 12 months.

 



Les to liaise with Ginny

Letter from Companys House – Corporation Tax responsibility at Sunderland.  No corporation tax returns required for the next five years unless circumstances of the JTP change.

 

 

Champion rights for warmth within your community – event for networking conference 20th June at Gateshead (see leaflet and free phone number). Campaign message to go in the Trimdon Messenger.

Momentum pathways to Health Care – formal public consultation June to September. New hospital proposed at Wynyard.  Website and phone number to put in Messenger.

Development Trust Association – due for renewal. £58 p/a.

Sedgefield Borough LSP – stakeholder 20th June 9.30 – 12.00.

Andy Coulthard – Partnership grant awarded £7,000. Information to be forwarded by 20th June.  Andy to be invited to action planning event.

 Village Events

Chris – Sponsored Walk 14th June 13 miles, 10 laps of the racecourse.  Sponsorhsip in aid of Butterwick childrens Hospice.

Mary – Community Gardens – Open night £200 donated to Butterwick Childrens Hospice – marrows being grown and sponsored and will be weighed. Meeting hut being erected 9th June, photographs and interview on 13th June.  Community Gardnes, Hart View, Trimdon Village open Wednesday and Saturdays 1.30 – 3.30 – all welcome.

Sheila – Cycling Club Annual Coast to Coast – commencing 13th June 157 mile sponsorship in aid of Butterwick Hospice and Cycling Club Funds. 2 family cycle rides coming up in conjunction with the Borough 1( Ferryhill 13th June and another in July at Aycliffe).  September 14 – 19 year olds Cycle in Stanhope.  Cycle Club Meeting at Trimdon Community College on Wednesday 4th June.

Pamela – Puppy Training Trimdon Grange Community Centre on 8th July 6pm.

Friends of Trimdon Grange School – Club Night, Trimdon Grange Workmen’s Club on 27th June – 7.30 – 11.pm

June 17th Methodist Church Strawberry Fayre.

Sedgefield Borough – planning summer programme.  Contact: Caroline Stephens.

Pamela – Play Park at Trimdon Grange, endorsement from the group.  Funding application from Open spaces of upto £80,000 for phase II for MUGA.  Community Association to make application.
