Opening
The regular meeting of the Joint Trimdons Regeneration Partnership was called to order at 6.30pm on Tuesday 4th March 2008 in Trimdon Colliery Community Centre by Peter Brookes (Chair).

Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved and distributed

PCT Discussion
A good meeting was held with David Gallagher PCT to discuss issues relating to Reduced Surgery Hours this has now been settled and they have backed down it was suggested to keep in touch with Mr Gallagher & NHS for future developments, a thank you letter has been forwarded.

Lucy to chase up the Scarman Trust Re: funding for activities, Louise Anderson to look into as this money has to be spent before 29th March.

Sedgefield Partnership
A proposal for a shared Development Worker for The Trimdon’s, Fishburn & B’hop Middeham areas in partnership was suggested Adam was to take this back & speak with Andy, the proposal has been drafted up,

Joint Trimdon Regen. Are asking for County & Parish Councils to get behind this. It was suggested a joint bid from the joint Trimdons & Sedgefield External Funding.

Members asked when Trimdon Grange health centre was going to be removed, as it was becoming a danger due to young people congregating there. Work to begin in March.

A letter has been forward to Maurice Nichol to attend future meeting no reply as yet.

Youth Worker Course

Dawn has funding in place; however, this was due to start before the end of March 08, at a cost of 31.50 per person. Cannot get a tutor until later in the year, It was agreed that two hundred pounds from Digital Village Project and Trimdon Regeneration if they agree to share funding costs.

Sports Meeting

To be on every other agenda to invite Ian Daveys to next meeting from Borough Council Leisure dept.
 
E.D.F Funding - A community Fund scheme begins in May. Contact Margaret Hanson asking for groups within a three-mile radius of the wind farm to come up with projects? Ten thousand pound available for one off project with a deadline of March 31st. The Group was in support of National Play Day as this involves thousands of young people - bringing communities together. This will be held on Wed. 6th August in Trimdon Grange. Margaret G. to contact.

Correspondence
Trimdon Grange Play Park have asked for a letter of support, this was agreed as almost secured seventy thousand pounds.

A letter from NHS Primary Care Trust endorsing none reduction of surgery hours.

Officers Reports:
Good Opportunities to the new unitary council starting May 2009 Lucy & Peter on that committee intend to have development worker in place.
Foresee a lot more positive future ahead.

Action:
Ginny to do Invite Ian Daveys to next meeting.
Type letter of support for Trimdon Grange Pay Park and pass to P. Duddin.

There is a level 1 youth worker course available there are 12 people wanting to do this course. Paul Emmerson Youth Worker for T.G.C.C to attend.

Election of Secretary
Action: Su Jordan agreed to take on the job as future Secretary as Ginny announced she is to step down, however, she remains Company Secretary and Treasurer. We thank her for all her hard work and dedication.

Scarman Trust Funding.
This needs to be chased up about who got what and where it is going to be used.
Action: Lucy Hovvels to do

Any Other Business

Jodie Cowie gave brief description of her work in the Community topics include High Quality Childcare, Varied Menu of activities, Community Access – including parenting support, specialist services – A Healthy Eating course begins next Wed 5.30-7.30pm. For four weeks.

Lots of Activities beginning after Easter to include:
A swimming programme, Taekwon-do, in 10-week block, Arts & Crafts, Dance hip-hop & Street, Ice-Skating.
There will also be A Community Newspaper funded by The Children’s Fund after a visit to the Media Centre in Middlesbrough.
Varied Courses with Education in The Community – 6wk course to begin at Trimdon Infants & Hardwick Primary Schools.
ICT Suites offering homework and catch-up sessions.
With the possibility of Trampoline classes. To look at Cornforth Partnership for help with transport costs.

Louise Anderson begins her ‘grow your own’ workshops this Saturday the course will include free seeds, planters and compost working with 100 households in Trimdon. Hart View Allotments Trimdon Village to include free step-by-step guides to successfully grow your own fruit, vegetables and salads.

Pam also mentioned a Spanish Course beginning Friday 29th Feb in Trimdon Grange Community Centre.

EDF Wind Farm Trimdon Grange
There is an amount of £10,000 available to use before 31st March 2008. This is to be dealt with quickly to enable the money to be used.
