DIGITAL COMMUNITY NEWS
The family History class which ran through September at Trimdon Village Library was a big success.
The demand for the course was great and it is hoped we can put on other courses in the future.
Watch this space!

Local band ‘Spheres’ romped to victory in the ‘Battle of the Bands’ final, held at the Studio, Hartlepool.

A polished performance from the lads where they knew they would have to raise the bar if they were to win the competition. They also knew there would be stiff opposition from Redcar band, ‘Columbia’, who eventually finished second.

Again the lads had plenty of support with their legion of followers, who turned up in greater numbers than at the semi final. The atmosphere was absolutely fantastic and the lads were the first to show their appreciation.

Once again can I say a massive well done to ‘Spheres’, and ask if anyone who was at the final if they have any pictures of the band performing, any comments or messages we would love to hear from you.
You can email us at t2kmanager@btconnect.com or trmregen@btconnect.com.

Can I also say that as part of the prize, for winning the competition, the band is to get to do a headline gig at the ‘Studio’ in November, (I’m sure the legions will be going to that one), but I can’t help thinking how great it would be to get them performing somewhere in the Trimdons. What do you think? Email us and let us know?

CHILDREN FROM GERMANY, HUNGARY & SLOVAKIA TO VISIT
From November 3rd-7th, eight children and fourteen teachers are to visit us from three countries (Slovakia, Hungary and Germany) as part of the ‘Comenius’ schools program which Trimdon Village Junior school are taking part. The children will be staying with host families throughout the villages, which will help them to sample at first hand our culture, our children’s routines hobbies and activities. This is the latest in a series of exchange visits which has seen our children visit Germany and Hungary. We hope that our visitors enjoy their stay and are made as welcome as they made our visiting parties. Good luck to the staff, pupils and friends of the school

A special thanks to Trimdon Parish Council for their support.

Hello again
,
A lot has happened since the last issue of the Messenger; we have had meetings in the 4 villages, getting new members to join the Joint Trimdon Regeneration Partnership.
However the main priority is to improve the communication throughout the villages and we’ve been working closely with the Parish Council to secure a photocopier, so that we can print our Messenger newsletter. This copier has now been purchased. We are also working closely with the people who designed our website to improve it and the address is now simply, www.trimdons.com, (easy to remember!).
Now what we need is your help: The website is a living project. We need your articles and information to keep it fresh and up to date. You don’t need any computer skills to help, just an ability to tell a story or share an interesting fact. We are particularly interested in your memories, pictures, or photographs, news and events in Trimdon Village, Trimdon Station, Trimdon Grange, and Trimdon Colliery.
Regards, Andrew
