Welcome To Our First Issue of 2007
About us:
We have been going for 5 years and prior to this we were the Millennium Messenger. We changed our name as we felt it was out of date and as part of our revamp we ran a competition to have a new logo designed by the children of our community. The winning design is on every issue.
We distribute to 2,200 houses in Trimdon Village, Grange and Colliery every 2 months and rely on advert sponsorship to pay for its distribution. We are trying to find money to expand it to Trimdon Station/Deaf Hill.
Meet the Team:
We are a team of volunteers who give our time, knowledge, experience and skills who create your bimonthly newsletter. Jackie and Robert joined us at the beginning of 2003 and they give several hours of their time to type up the stories, create the layout and make the articles look interesting for several of the pages, every issue.
Margaret is the person who tells all our story givers when their deadlines are approaching, distributes information to the team to type and format, then ensures the finished edition is formatted and ready to be printed. She also carries out the training. Trevor is the photographer for the group and assists with the finances. I (Louise) get the easier tasks of proof reading, organising team meetings and seeking funding when we need it.

Partnership working:
Our newsletter is in partnership with the Parish Council and 2 of the pages are designated to Parish
Council news. They have funded the printing of the newsletter for the past two years and now they have provided a photocopier in Trimdon House, which we use to print out every issue. This is a huge task and we rely on staff at Trimdon House and our team of volunteers (especially Gerard) to ensure this happens in time for our delivery deadlines.
We also rely on many organisations to send us their news so we can pass this onto to you and keep you updated of what’s happening in our community and surrounding areas.
