Information Update – 19th July 2006
Please note: There will be no beat surgeries from 19th July until 18 August due to a combination of leave and operational commitments. Normal service will resume 18th August at Trimdon Colliery community centre.
CRIME AGAIN IS LOW
HOWEVER SINCE 24th JUNE THERE HAS BEEN A SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN VEHICLE RELATED CRIMES (ALL OVERNIGHT) – VEHICLES HAVE BEEN BROKEN INTO AND ATTEMPTS MADE TO TAKE VEHICLES.
CAN I ASK EVERYONE TO USE ALL POSSIBLE DETERRENTS TO TRY AND PREVENT FURTHER CRIMES (STEERING LOCKS ALARMS ETC) AND DO NOT LEAVE ANY PROPERTY ON DISPLAY IN YOUR VEHICLES. EXTRA PATROLS ARE IN PLACE NOW TO TRY AND TRACE THE OFFENDERS. THESE CRIMES HAVE OCCURRED IN ALL THE TRIMDONS.
PARKING IN CHURCH ROAD TRIMDON VILLAGE
HAS IMPROVED BUT NOW AND AGAIN I HAVE SEEN PEOPLE DOUBLE PARKING OUTSIDE THE SHOPS AND CAUSING OBSTRUCTIONS. CAN PEOPLE PLEASE USE MARKED PARKING BAYS WHERE POSSIBLE AND SURROUNDING STREETS
ANYONE DOUBLE PARKING WILL BE SUBJECT TO A TICKET WHICH RESULTS IN A £30 FINE.
RECENT INCIDENTS OF ANTI SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR IN TRIMDON GRANGE HAVE DECREASED. THIS IS DUE TO VERY GOOD INFORMATION BEING GIVEN TO ME BY LOCAL RESIDENTS (AND YOUTHS) WHICH HAS ASSISTED ME TO REDUCE THE SCALE OF THE PROBLEMS WE WERE GETTING.
AS OF 14th AUGUST WE WILL BE STARTING OPERATION KILO, THIS WILL RUN FOR TWO WEEKS IN TARGETED AREAS IN THE TRIMDON VILLAGE AREA. THE OPERATION WILL BE A JOINT VENTURE WITH POLICE AND SEDGEFIELD BOROUGH COUNCIL COMMUNITY SAFETY PARTNERSHIP. POLICE OFFICERS, COMMUNITY WARDENS AND POLICE COMMUNITY SAFETY OFFICERS WILL TACKLE ISSUES RELATING TO CRIME, ANTI SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR AND ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES. THE OPERATION IS PART OF THE DURHAM CONSTABULARY STREET SAFE SCHEME, SIMILAR OPERTIONS RUN IN SHILDON AND SPENNYMOOR THIS YEAR PROVED A GREAT SUCCESS. THE OPERATION WILL BE PUBLICISED IN LOCAL MEDIA AND LEAFLET DROPS WILL TAKE PLACE GIVING FULL DETAILS.
SCHOOL WATCH WILL CONTINUE TO RUN THROUGHOUT THE HOLIDAYS. CAN I ASK ANYONE WITH ANY INFORMATION REGARDING PERSONS BEING IN OR ON SCHOOL PROPERTY (WITHOUT GOOD REASON) TO CONTACT US A.S.A.P ON 0845 60 60 365
