Leisure & Recreation Issues Peter outlined the background of the Trimdon Partnership. Phil Ball opened the debate and referred to the perception of what is available. H e outlined what had gone on before and reasons why. He said the recreation dept acknowledge the contribution from the voluntary sector with the development of football play rangers. He knows what we require from him. He hopes that in time grant aid can be diverted for coaches into the Trimdons. He said that SBC needs to support the communities in school holidays when planning programmes and how to fill in the gaps. Sustainable plans need to be in place and we need to share good practice. A blueprint for the future is needed. Phil stated that transport is a real problem and that joint working needs to be co-ordinated. Cross boundary working is a priority for the things that are of concern. All agreed there was a need for strategy to be in place for the Trimdons. Phil agreed the Recreation Dept will be involved in this work.
Action a sub group be formed to take leisure forward ask Jodie extended schools worker to join if possible. Membership to be agreed at the next meeting
