Seated exerciseA seated Exercise to Music session is looking for more participants. The sessions are aimed specifically at the over 60s especially for people who have done little or no exercise recently. Mike Bridge, Development Worker for Age Concern said, “The trainer has a great way with the group, she manages to relax everyone and get them to work at their own pace so that they feel comfortable at all times whilst doing enough to reap benefits from the sessions. Many people are under the misconception that it’s too late to start exercising at whatever age and for whatever reason. People worry that it will be too much for them and that it will cause them more harm than good; if people think this I would encourage them to come down and give it a try. sessions that we run in the borough, over 90% of the people who replied said that they had seen real health benefits since joining in on the courses. We’re not talking about curing illnesses, but making life more comfortable by    increasing things such as flexibility and stamina, feeling happier and getting a better night’s sleep. It’s these real world differences that we are looking for, ones that make later life more enjoyable. The session lasts approximately three quarters of an hour and is open to anyone who would like to come and join in .” Age Concern suggests a donation of £1 per session to assist with the associated costs of the session.
