LOCAL PEOPLE URGED TO RETURN UNWANTED HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE EQUIPMENT
Local people are being encouraged to return equipment that they no longer require or use to the County Durham and Darlington Home Equipment Loans Service.
The Home Equipment Loans Services (HELS) is a countywide service, which provides equipment on loan to children and adults of all ages with illness and / or disabilities who
require equipment to help with their nursing, social and rehabilitation care. Last year HELS delivered 57,000 pieces of equipment which included beds, hoists, mobility, toileting and bathing aids.

Paul Allison, manager of the HEL Service, said: “The service provided by the Home Equipment Loans team is vital in helping people to maintain their independence and remain in their own homes.

“We want local people to help us by telling us if they or a relative have been loaned equipment that they no longer need or use.
“We will then arrange collection and ensure that the equipment is loaned to other people who are in need of it.”
Contact the Home Equipment Loans Service on 01388 812 812
(between 10am to 4pm, Monday to Friday) or write to:
HELS, Unit 28, Enterprise City, Spennymoor, Co Durham, DL16 6JF.
