Andrew LukeHi my name is Andrew Luke; I am now the ‘Partnership Co-ordinator’ for the Joint Trimdons Regeneration Partnership. The Partnership that was formed in 1997.
It represents the needs of the residents of Trimdon Village, Trimdon Grange, Trimdon Colliery and now Trimdon Station in social and economic regeneration. Having grown up and lived in Trimdon all my life, seen a lot of changes, some good, some not so good, I feel that with the help of the community, the Partnership can help put Trimdon firmly on the map for regeneration, and bring us right up into the 21st century, without loosing sight of our heritage.

THE FEEDBACK FROM THE EVENT WAS BRILLIANT,  EVERYONE AGREED IT WAS A GREAT SUCCESS, AND THERE SHOULD BE MORE LIKE IT!
WE CERTAINLY PLAN TO DO THAT IN THE NEAR FUTURE.
“WATCH THIS SPACE”

One thing I helped organise this year was the “Celebration event” celebrating Trimdons past, present and future, held at Trimdon Grange Community Centre at the end of March. This was organised to allow local groups and organisations to 03july06come along and show the community what it is they do, and what’s going on in your local area. Free transport was provided from the other three villages which helped transport people to and from the event; this helped us attract over 400 visitors

All the children from our schools took part in competitions. The winning entries are to be shown on the cover of the new “Welcome to Trimdon” packs that is to be distributed by the Partnership (very shortly), every household within the four Trimdons, will receive one, full of useful contact details. The winners are pictured with prizes presented by Colin Cooper, Middlesbrough FC.

05july0606july06I would like to congratulate all members of Skerne Play Park on the opening of the park (on time), the work and effort was immense and the park itself looks fantastic. My two children have certainly been using it during the school holidays. Although it is still early days everything looks to working great and hopefully the new play park at Trimdon Colliery which is now under development will be equally successful.

Can I finally say a well done to the under 8’s football team I run, which consists of players from 04july06all four villages, we had our first game recently and although we lost we had a fantastic day, I was proud of every last one of them. Training starts back on Saturday September 9th at 10:30, anybody wanting their children to come along are most welcome, we will be running two groups this year under 6’s and under 8’s. Trimdon United also run teams from under 10’s to under 15’s training times available by ringing the office on number below.
