THE OLYMPICS COME TO TRIMDON

Trimdon Colliery multi-use games area (MUGA) is a newly built sports facility on the site of Trimdon Colliery Community Centre. The project has been funded by the Barclays Spaces for Sports Programme - a three-year, £30 million community sponsorship programme to create new and improved sports facilities in communities across the UK.
The programme is a partnership between Barclays, Groundwork and the Football Foundation.
Following the launch of this project in October 2006 by the Prime Minister Tony Blair, a range of FREE activities and events open to children and adults of all ages are scheduled for the coming months. The

Sedgefield Borough Council,
Trimdon Colliery Community
Association and East Durham
Play & Community Network. The first event to take place will be a Community Fun Day, which will feature a variety of sports and play activities including a Mini Olympics competition. The aim of these events is to provide the communities with the opportunity to take part in sport and play and allow the same opportunities to everyone regardless of age or ability.
There will be something for everyone!
Date: Saturday 7th April 2007

Time:10:30am to 3:00pm
Venue: Trimdon Colliery Community Centre
Activities will run in the morning and afternoon with an hour for lunch in between.
In addition, free water and fruit will be available to all those attending throughout the day.
So if you like sport, like to play, have fun and like spending time as a family, then come and join us!
