Publications in the Fitzhugh Library
Both Doves, Pigeons and Masonry Bees and Spinning the Wheel of Fortune have joined the 10,000 other items of local history available to researchers at Barnard Castle’s Fitzhugh Library. Author Adam Luke commented “It is an amazing honour and privilege to provide information for such a good cause and to make my books available to local and national researchers in such a way”.  The library was started in 1990 to preserve the region’s history and has since amassed over 10,000 items from books, periodicals, ephemera and some 4,000 sheets of newspaper cuttings. The library situated behind the famous Witham Hall and is opened every Tuesday between 11 and 3.
