Comment: Back to my roots. my great grandfather was from Trimdon, he was William born in c1882. he married Elizabeth and had Mary, Margaret, Jen or Jane, William and twins Elizabeth and Tom around 1910 – 1914. Any information on these would be greatly appreciated. I visited
Deaf Hill in September to lay my nanna Elizabeth to rest with her mam and dad. They lay next to Jen / Jane and her husband Albert Edward Skillet who died in 1950.

Comment: I have spent the past hour reading all of the messages posted on this website and its great reading what everyone is getting up to.  It’s nice to see that someone is taking the time to finally put Trimdon on the map!! Well done little Jonny Lungut in getting your degree……and it makes me feel really old when Small Paul is talking about spending time in the Royal!!
I’m slightly sceptical about Boothy writing from all these distant shores – I bet you are really bored at work telling us all fibs! If you do read this message Boothy, I think you went to college at Durham with my Husband Scott Napier. We have two little jam eaters now and I still come over Trimdon to fully utilise Crazy Granda’s babysitting facilities!

Comment: Hey Ken, i thought you were supposed to be allowed free speech on here. Why have you not published my comments about ***********, Is it maybe because im correct ????
Answer:
You can comment about anything you want, or complain about me or the website, and I’ll put it online, but I thought it would be obvious that I can’t publish personal insults directed at someone else, especially as you aren’t prepared to leave your own name.

Comment: Yep, I think everyone misses the good old TMS, even when the snow was deep TMS used to get through OK, not like the United buses Eh!!! Wonder what happened to Zebra the Spanish holiday buses, did they go down when TMS did??  Funny feeling tells me they are still going somewhere cos back of my mind is the thought i have seen a one fairly recently (last 4 or 5 year maybe?)Still remember June Blakey (still lives Trimdon) and a guy who we used to affectionately know as ELVIS cos of his hair and collar up.  Happy days eh!!Wilko

Comment: Why is it that everyone now wants to protect the church. Do any of you actually bother to attend the church ??? No, most of you don’t. You don’t support the church by attending. So why should they keep it open, if people only want to go to the church when they want something from it like a wedding ??

Comment: Is their not a web site to complain about the closing of Trimdon Colliery Church? Would get a lot of response I think as it is much easier Emailing than writing a letter, stamping it then posting it.
Done a bit research and think this will get through to the people concerned about the closure of St Pauls Church, Trimdon Station.

Comment:: In the Historical bits & pieces section there is an article “A Tribute to Mr. Richard Scott (died June 1913). Written by Pastor Stephen Davison of the Deaf Hill Vicarage. The article was loaned by Ante Greathead.  I have reason to believe that Richard Scott is in my family tree.  Does anyone know if it’s possible to be put in touch with Ante Greathead or anyone that would have access to more information.
Thank you.

Hi everyone.
I am originally from Trimdon Village but have lived in Canada since 1974. I’m coming home for a couple of weeks in September and was wondering if there are any reasonably priced Car Hire firms in the area. I’m flying into Manchester, but rather than hire a car there I would rather take the train to Darlington or Durham and get a car locally. Any help would be great.

Deaf Hill
I was introduced to the site by my sister (now Ann Paradise). She is lives in Surrey, I am in France. We lived the Deaf Hill experience – recoginizing all George Ford’s aerial photos (and some missing stuff) – during 1942-65.
All mentions of Deaf Hill Infants school, D4 buses to Stockton, etc.etc., bring back memories. And we are both interested in contacts.
For those doing families history research about Trimdon Foundry, (where my Dad, Jack Jones, lived), Coffee Pot Lane/Trimdon Colliery, etc. near turn of the last century ; I shall get my mother Sophie (Ellis) on the job when she visits next (from Sedgefield).

Saw a posting from Kevin Flint. That’s funny. I used to hang out with Kevin when I went to Deaf Hill school. Now I’m living in Canada. I have a couple of kids now that I love to torment and go dirtbiking and camping with. My brother showed me this site and I’d though I’d send a posting. Anybody remember me then send a message out there to the address above. All the best from Canada!

My Dad was born in Seaham and my Grandad was born in Trimdon. I’m currently researching my Dad’s side of the family. My Great Grandad was the Colliery Traffic Manager at Trimdon Grange around 1900, and lived at 1 Station Road at the time. Fascinating looking at the pictures in the ‘Now & Then’ area. Hoping to come visit the area one day.
