Doves, Pigeons and Masonry Bees
by Adam Luke

An historical encounter of St. Mary Magdalene Church, Trimdon Village.

With written contributions by historian John Grundy and former Prime Minister Tony Blair.
magdalene1

Day after day for over 850 years St. Mary Magdalene Church in Trimdon has stood proud “queen of the village”, through good times and bad she has presided over the area: a subconscious acquaintance in the lives of those for miles around. Once described as “a ruinous, neglected-looking edifice” she has been nurtured by the Christian people of this parish and is now a shining light in the community, echoed in the sentiments of visitor upon visitor. History is woven into the very fabric of the building constructed of a spectrum of unique escapades, Christian tradition and good fortune. Now it is your turn to join Doves, Pigeons and Masonry Bees on an action packed flight through the history of Trimdon’s Icon.
