This site has got to be one of the best kept secrets but it's great. Was a treat to see photos of the old TMS as I worked there for 18 years as a fitter from 72 until it closed in 1989! does anybody remember Eddy Fowler, Ian Noble or Phil Saxton, Don Bell or anyone else connected with TMS? has anyone else out there got anymore photos?Keep up the good work. A local site for local people, excellent!

I'm trying to trace any surviving relatives of Sgt George Marshall, who was killed on 1st March 1943 whilst serving with the RAF.

George is buried in Trimdon Grange Cemetery and his parents were James and Alice Marshall, of Trimdon Village.

I am part of a group researching wartime aircraft accidents and George's aircraft is one of them, having crashed onto remote moorland near Bellingham, Northumberland.

The remains of the aircraft are hopefully going to be excavated later this year and are to go on display at the North East Aircraft Museum in Sunderland. It is also hoped that a memorial will also be erected near the crash site.

I look forward to any replies.

Yours,

Jim Corbett

 Hi Guys,

me again, as there was a little bit of confusion as to the time i post messages and my personal history, here is a quick bio.
Formaly from Trimdon, worked in construction, went to peterlee college at 28 years old, studied electronics, emmigrated to British Columbia canada, 15 years ago, back to school, now an electrician. Wife Anne manages a store, daughter at college and a world travler.

We live in Coquitlam, a native named city, a suburb of Vancouver, BC , In the fraser river valley, very mild weather, surrounded by mountains , it rains a lot! BC'ers are pretty laid back, the hippies of canada.

We miss Co Durham, England, Trimdon..... we come over for a visit every two years, read the northen echo on the net and the trimdon Times every day. Modern BC is only 130 years old so we have no visible history, our native people built of wood which rots pretty fast in a rain forest. We miss english pubs, humor. Watch coronation st. on tv.

Hope I'm not boring ya, if anything interseting is happening I will post it, forgive the grammer , I majored in electricity , not english.

regards george

Love to hear from people in our old haunts, reading the guest book the kids are just as crazy as we were .
