Comment: Hi there, just found out about your site a short while ago when visiting a friend at Deaf Hill and find it really interesting, especially after reading some of the earlier posts,......one in particular caught my attention and that was by george r posted on the 16th of April 2005 titled
back o lonnen......I always thought it was spelt lodden and that the ...back over lonnen.... was the back road from coffee pot to deaf hill ???... ,....thanks for that george

Comment:: In the Historical bits & pieces section there is an article "A Tribute to Mr. Richard Scott (died June 1913). Written by Pastor Stephen Davison of the Deaf Hill Vicarage. The article was loaned by Ante Greathead. I have reason to believe that Richard Scott is in my family tree. Does anyone know if it's possible to be put in touch with Ante Greathead or anyone that would have access to more information.

Comment: I have traced my roots back to Trimdon, Robert Swinburn(e) of Trimdon born c.1822 Horton/Cow Pen, Northumberland; died between 1881-1901; married JANE ELLIOTT, born c.1826 Westoe, Durham; they are on the 1851 census at Trimdon with their 3 eldest sons and Jane's mother Mary Elliott, Robert was a Coal Miner aged 29 and Jane aged 25. Visited Trimdon last summer on my way to Northumberland.
