Saturday 10th June 1950 at 3.p.m.
The Ceremony of Unveiling was the culmination of approximately three years of work and fundraising by local people, in order to provide a lasting memorial to the family and friends who had lost their lives “for King and Country” during World War 2, which at that time in 1950 had only been over for five short years.
